Concrete Compatibility
Fly ash samples containing Amended Silicates are tested during field trials. Novinda supplies independent labs and fly ash brokers with these samples to evaluate various parameters related to concrete compatibility and the mobility (leachability) of mercury captured by Amended Silicates. Novinda also examines balance of plant impacts and other aspects of power plant operations that might be affected by the adoption of Amended Silicates.
Data consistently indicates that Amended Silicates meets stringent EPA leachability standards and is completely compatible with fly ash use in concrete. Extensive field trial experience shows that Amended Silicates has no discernible balance of plant impact.
Concrete compatibility tests include comparisons to neat fly ash in terms of air entrainment and concrete strength versus curing time. These tests have yielded consistent results as shown below.
